Audition to be a part of our winter 2025 production – It’s a Wonderful Life, the play version, running from December 5 to 20 2025 with director Barbara Burgess-Lefebvre. Auditions are available in-person through our online audition form (see below).

Stage and Vocal Auditions for Utopia, Limited 2025

Audition to be a part of our Fall 2025 production – Gilbert & Sullivan’s Utopia, Limited, or: The Flowers of Progress, running from October 10-19 2025 with music director Guy Russo and stage director Robert Hockenberry. We will be auditioning for lead and ensemble roles. Auditions are available in-person or via video submission through our online audition form (see below).

Casting is at the discretion of the director(s). If an actor has to miss a performance, this may preclude them from being cast in the show.

Thursday, June 12th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and
Saturday, June 14th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm

Prepare no more than two minutes of a song that best showcases your voice. Opera (in English), Operetta, or more Traditional (not pop) Broadway recommended.

You may also be asked to do a cold reading.

Please fill out our digital audition form ahead of time and be sure to indicate which time slot or slots you are available. We will compile the responses into a final schedule and contact you about your scheduled audition time.

Please bring:

  • Sheet music for our accompanist (and a second copy for yourself if not memorized).
  • Resume and head-shot, if available.

Virtual auditions:

Prepare no more than two minutes of a song that best showcases your voice. Opera (in English), Operetta, or more Traditional (not pop) Broadway recommended. You can use an app like Appcompanist (available on iOS and Android) to assist you in your recording.

We are looking for directors for the following shows for our 88th season:

The Woman in White: running July 11-26 2025
It’s a Wonderful Life: running December 5-20 2025

Auditions for Babes in Toyland 2024

Audition to be a part of our Winter 2024 production – Victor Herbert’s operetta Babes in Toyland, running from December 6 to 21 2024 with director Robert Hockenberry and music director Guy Russo. Auditions are available in-person through our online audition form (see below).

Silas Barnaby – male, 30+, non-singer. The main villain, after his niece and nephew’s fortune while trying to marry Alan’s girlfriend Mary.
Alan – male, tenor, teens-30. Nephew of Barnaby, the main male love interest
Jane – female, soprano, teens-30. Alan’s twin, unaware her uncle is evil. Finds love of her own
Contrary Mary – female, soprano, teens-30. Oldest daughter of widow piper and main female love interest.
The Widow Piper – female, mezzo, 30+. Widowed mother of 14, wants Mary to marry Barnaby.
Roderigo – male, baritone. any age. A bungling villain sidekick.
Gonzorgo – male, baritone. any age. A big-hearted bungling villain sidekick.
Delancy Marmaduke – male, tenor 30+. Builder of the world’s best marionettes.
Grumio – male, tenor, 20s+. The loveable apprentice of the Master Toymaker.
The Master Toymaker – male, 30+, non-singer. A kindly appearing but secretly evil and bitter builder of toys.
Little Bo-Peep – female, soprano, teens-30. An easily distracted shepherdess.
Jack – male, child-teen, minimal singing. Jill’s twin.
Jill – female, child-teen, minimal singing. Jack’s twin.
Sallie Waters – female, soprano, teen. A romantic young woman.
Little Boy Blue – male, child, minimal singing. A precocious kid.
Little Miss Muffet – female, alto, teens-20s. Has a fear of spiders.
Moth Queen – female, any age, non-singer. The ruler of the forest.
Little Red Riding Hood – female, soprano, teen. A sweet woman.
Hilda – female, 20s-50s, non-singer. The maid of the Piper family.
Several other small Mother Goose character roles

Some adult roles are non-singing, and there are also several roles available for children (must be old enough to read).

Special Event: Hail Comedy V Improv!

City Paper Best of Pittsburgh Award-winning improv troupe Select Start return to the Savoyards this fall for another round of hilarious improv comedy. Audiences will inspire the performers in interactive games and scenes throughout the show and see their suggestions turn into laughs. A staged reading of a comedic take on the Edgar Allen Poe classic about insanity, guilt, and people being the cause of their own downfall. This adaptation was written by popular local author Michael McGovern, and is perfect to get you in the mood for Halloween!
