Winter Warmer: The Road to Titipu

roadtotitipuJoin us Sunday, January 11 for the Savoyards first annual Winter Warmer: The Road to Titipu! Enjoy a spread of food prepared by the Savoyards, as well as a wine and beer bar.

The evening will feature  open mic Gilbert & Sullivan, where you can sing your favorite G&S numbers accompanied by pianist Matt Brown. The Lost Chord Trio, featuring Savoyards orchestra members Laura Leonard, Monica Hurley, and Steve Leonard, will provide atmospheric music from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The evening will also feature a gift basket raffle.

The Sorcerer: Live Double Album

This spring we will be performing Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic “The Mikado” for the thirteenth time in our company’s history! To help get everyone excited for the latest Mikado, here is a collection of posters from some of our past productions – The Mikado – Past Production Poster Gallery.

Don’t forget, auditions for The Mikado are coming up next month, December 15th and 17th. The production will run March 6th-15th at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall.

Auditions for Spring 2015 Show: The Mikado

Stage and Vocal Auditions for Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Mikado” will be held at:
Our Lady of Victory Church Auditorium

Monday Dec 15, 2014 from 7:30 pm until 9 pm
and also on Wednesday Dec 17, 2014 from 7:30 pm until 9 pm

Prepare a song that best showcases your voice:
either Gilbert & Sullivan (preferred), standard musical theater, or classical.

An accompanist will be provided (no a’capella selections)
Please bring Resume and Head-shot,
No Appointment is necessary.
Auditions will be conducted in order of arrival.

Arts Day of Giving

Today, Oct 2, is the Arts Day of Giving sponsored by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and the Pittsburgh Foundation. Unfortunately the Pittsburgh Savoyards are not part of this event due to a misunderstanding about eligibility. Please do give generously to our fellow Pittsburgh arts organizations, and as always we are glad to accept your support through direct donations.

The Pittsburgh Savoyards are seeking a Stage Director for our Spring 2015 production, The Mikado, by Gilbert & Sullivan. Performance dates are March 6 – 15th, 2015.

Gilbert & Sullivan or other Operetta experience preferred.
