This spring we will be performing Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic “The Mikado” for the thirteenth time in our company’s history! To help get everyone excited for the latest Mikado, here is a collection of posters from some of our past productions – The Mikado – Past Production Poster Gallery.

Don’t forget, auditions for The Mikado are coming up next month, December 15th and 17th. The production will run March 6th-15th at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall.

An accompanist will be provided (no a’capella selections)

No Appointment is necessary.

Today, Oct 2, is the Arts Day of Giving sponsored by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and the Pittsburgh Foundation. Unfortunately the Pittsburgh Savoyards are not part of this event due to a misunderstanding about eligibility. The Pittsburgh Savoyards are seeking a Stage Director for our Spring 2015 production, The Mikado, by Gilbert & Sullivan. Performance dates are March 6 – 15th, 2015.

Gilbert & Sullivan or other Operetta experience preferred.

We are pleased to offer local nonprofit organizations a limited number of free tickets to the opening weekend of its upcoming production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Sorcerer (opening weekend dates October 10, 11, and 12, 2014).

The free tickets will be for general-admission seats, and will be honored at any of the three opening-weekend performances of The Sorcerer at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library Music Hall in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Local nonprofit groups with an educational mission will be preferred.

The Savoyards’ production of The Sorcerer is just around the corner! You can now pre-purchase tickets via Showclix. You can also now purchase ads in the Savoyards program using our advertising form. Advertising in our program is a great way to promote your business or support your friends or family participating in the show! NOTE:  Ad requests must be received by Sunday Sept 28, 2014 to be included in our program.

Last month, we held our annual Board of Trustees elections.

We welcome newly elected members Bonnie Bogovich, Ed Griffiths and Garth Schaffer. We also welcome ongoing members Michael Greenstein, Andrea Carriker, Lynette Garlan, and Jim Newsome to their new positions as President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.

Special thanks to our outgoing Board of Trustees members Eric Hayes, Jane Huff and Steve Leonard for their dedication and service on our Board.
